Mission Enfance Rescue children in distress around the world
Mission Enfance is an organisation of International Solidarity created in 1991, in France and in the Principality of Monaco, by Father Stéphane Aumonier, dedicated to children in distress.
In Monaco, this humanitarian association, under the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, was approved by the Ministry of State of the Principal Government on July 15, 2010 (Ministerial Order No. 2010-350).
Mission Enfance - France and Monaco - is chaired by Mrs. Patricia Husson. Its main objective is education. The association works directly in the field, with its local teams, to carry out its humanitarian programmes.
The Enfance Mission adapts its humanitarian aid according to the needs of the countries it serves, in isolated regions, without any racial, ethnic or religious consideration. In 2018, thanks to the subsidy for the running costs of its headquarters paid by the government of the Principality of Monaco and the support of its private patrons, the association was able to allocate 99.4% of its funds to its humanitarian actions in the field.
Promoting schooling for disadvantaged children
Our operational objective is to create or strengthen local school systems to make the schooling of children in difficult areas effective. Education is a step towards peace and development. This action is part of the aid needed to comply with Article 28 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Specific educational programmes monitored by us in the field.
The Enfance mission carries out the programmes it devises directly in the field in coordination with local authorities or those responsible.
The association fully controls the humanitarian aid it proposes. It has local teams in each country in which it is directly active and carries out monitoring missions, thus ensuring the successful delivery of aid to donors. It coordinates its humanitarian action under the aegis of the existing structures in the beneficiary countries. It acts exclusively for the benefit of the children it meets. It participates in an exceptional and timely manner in the financing of humanitarian operations carried out by other NGOs.
Mission Enfance, with its experience, integrates local know-how. The association recruits national teams that train for a common humanitarian objective. It also intervenes to develop local training and expertise whenever possible. The idea is to promote the sustainability of humanitarian action even when leaving a region.
Our areas of intervention:
- Actions for development through the strengthening of local health, educational, economic and social structures.
- Implementation of programs by our teams that aim to stabilize families.
- School sponsorship of children on a strong axis: "the future is built on school paths".
- Emergency actions, according to the association's capacities, towards children.
- Participation in joint actions with other organisations.
- Actions of testimony with the publication of reports and books.
A team
- Under the chairmanship of Mrs. Patricia Husson and under the direction of Mrs. Domitille Lagourgue, consultants, permanent staff and volunteers prepare and carry out the missions.
- A team of volunteers prepares emergency aid, which is systematically ordered, inventoried and adapted to the needs defined on the ground.
- The permanent staff coordinates the actions of this association, which is on a human scale, and monitors the correct use of funds and the implementation of aid.
